Shoot your shot!

About me

Hi there!

I'm Diana, you may call me Dee.

I'm currently on my Ph.D. journey at the University of Nevada, diving deep into the world of business administration, a realm that's taken me on adventures across the globe. And guess what? I'm excited to share all the juicy bits I've picked up along the way with you!

From a young age, I was inspired by amazing teachers who knew their stuff inside the classroom but didn't quite match up when it came to the hustle and bustle of the real business world. My experiences working with small and medium-sized businesses in Africa opened my eyes to a glaring gap between what is taught in class and what takes place in the real world. For example, it's one thing to discuss theoretical models and frameworks in a cozy classroom, but the real world? It's fast-paced, a tad bit intimidating, and not as cut and dried as textbooks make it out to be.

Armed with my Ph.D. in business strategy and entrepreneurship, I find myself in a unique position to bridge this gap between theory and practice. I’m fortunate to have dipped my toes in both worlds, I'm all about demystifying business concepts with a sprinkle of empirical research for that extra credibility! I’m also an instructor in the College of Business at UNR. In the last couple of years, I’ve taught introductory courses in Accounting, International Business, and Organizational Behavior. Going forward my focus will primarily be on strategic management, policy, and entrepreneurship courses at the 400 level.

While I'm still finding my footing in my teaching style, this website serves as my portal to the minds, ideas, and experiences of business owners—a treasure chest of insights that's as rare as it is valuable. Through crafting a teaching and research platform, my goal is to arm my students with practical knowledge that empowers them to chase their bold dreams with confidence.

Let’s make those big. hair-raising. audacious. goals. a reality, together! Are you ready to shoot your shot?
