My approach to teaching

In my class, everyone's voice matters because I strive to bring out the proactive, open, and curious side of students.

I’m all about preparing students for the big leagues in business leadership. We don’t just talk theory; we dive into the real skills like strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and how to communicate like a pro. The business world can seem pretty tough and impersonal, but I'm here to help students shake things up. I begin by encouraging a warm and psychologically safe environment to the classroom and thereafter to students’ future workplaces.

I apply technology to nurture a positive student experience and enhance learning. Firstly, technology such as discussion boards, clickers and Zoom meetings, provide a diverse range of communication avenues. Rather than relying solely on handouts, and the blackboard, technology enables the class to incorporate pictures and other 3-D objects to convey ideas effectively.  Secondly, technology serves as a valuable tool for record-keeping. It facilitates the organization of material in a way that is easy to follow and retrieve in the future, especially when ideas build on each other. Thirdly, technology enables outreach to audiences across various geographical locations. This is true, especially during Summer sessions when students travel more, we are still able to meet remotely and communicate effectively through technology tools built into the classroom canvas.
